Whispers of Terror Audio CD - Big Finish #3
Too soon for an unbelievable villian

Big Finish #3 Whispers of Terror is the first solo story for Colin Baker. Any sci-fi show that last more than a half of a season will have one of those stories where even taken in the story's universe in consideration the monster/villain is unbelievable. Nicola Bryant sounds as if she is reading her lines. The great part of these audio drama is the progress C. Baker and the 6th Doctor makes from TV to his early audio drama to the later ones. Baker really develop into a great Doctor. Whatever went wrong on TV they got right in the audio dramas. If you were a fan of #6 you are really going to like his audio dramas. If not I think you will have a change of heart and old #6 will move up a few spots on your all times Doctors list. I have also listen to 2 multi-Doctors stories Big Finish # 1 Sirens of Time with Davison, C. Baker & McCoy & The Light at the End a BBC 50th story with T. Baker, Davison, C. Baker, McCoy & McGann. In both if I were going to name an MVP of the story it would be #6.
Nicola Bryant also make great progress in later stories. She goes from read her lines to acting and Peri like Mel later really find herself as a great companion.
The Doctor and Peri find themselves in the Museum of Aural Antiquities, where every sound is stored for posterity - from the speeches of Visteen Krane to security service wire taps and interrogation tapes. But they also find an intruder, mysteriously changed recordings, and a dead body.
Before long the Doctor realises that there is more going on than a simple break-in or murder. How can he defeat a creature that is made of pure sound?
